Here are some things to consider if you are deciding whether to file a claim:

Get to Safety First

Step

If your home is not livable, seek a safe place to stay.

Keep a record of your living expenses including hotel bills, receipts for meals eaten out, etc. These records will be useful later.

If your car is not drivable, call 911 for assistance.

If needed file a police report for an accurate account of damage that has occurred.

Secure your property

Cover any holes in walls and roof with tarps.

Board up windows and doors to prevent looters.

Make sure fire and embers are completely out.
-
Move any property that is at risk of damage to a safe location.

Secure your vehicle in a safe location that is not blocking oncoming traffic.

Collect Required Info

Create an inventory of lost items and keep everything. Make a claim diary with details of conversations and work done, and keep adjuster and contractor business cards.

Take detailed photos of damage immediately for all claims.

For auto claims, get insurance and license info from other drivers and request a copy of the filed police report.

Give our Claims Team a call for any general questions or to start the claim process. They will review your inquiry and advise of any deductibles listed.

Business Hours are standard Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Holiday hours vary, which may cause a delay in response time.

If a loss occurs outside of normal business hours, please contact your carrier directly. Once the claim is filed, a claim advocate will follow up to assist if needed.
